PARTY LIKE IT'S 1994!

I've just released Wrong Way Back, which is a short point and click style adventure game for the Commodore Amiga CD32. (Though it's not exactly point and click since it's gamepad driven but it's that kind of game)

I never had an Amiga growing up, I was PC kid even back before PC had hard drives and so my first play through of Monkey Island was 4-colour CGA. It was a rough time and I was very envious of my friends with their colourful Amiga games machines. I was also very envious of AMOS which allowed people to make games, when I was still messing around with DOS C compilers and no idea what I was doing.

I've recently been revisiting a lot of old hardware and making games for them, and although I initially considered using some kind of C cross compiler to make an Amiga game I figured it was time to revisit AMOS and see if I had missed out as much as I felt like I did at the time. Apparently AMOS can get a bit of a bad rap for being underpowered but at least for adventure games it turned out to be a really friendly and cool way to make AMIGA software. I even picked up a physical copy which was a wise move as the reference manual was invaluable in making this game. All in all this was a lot of fun to make.

I may port it to PC at some later stage but right now the game was built or and around the limitation of AMOS on the Amiga and that very much shaped what the game is. For now hopefully the few people with CD32 machines or those willing to try it through emulator will enjoy it.
