A Dreamcast game by Perrin

Lydia has travelled a long way for answers. The world around her is dying and it seems nothing can be done to stop it. Like many before her she prepares to enter one of the "Towers" in search of hope.

The Eternal Sleep is a short narrative and puzzle solving adventure game for the SEGA Dreamcast console.

A pen and paper will probably come in handy for solving the puzzles along with in-built hints on the pause screen.

Install instructions

The game is provided in Dreamcast disc image in CDI format. To run this game you will need either an emulator or you can run it on real Dreamcast hardware using a burnt disc or a GDEmu device.

  • The small CDI file is tested as working with the Flycast emulator or a GDEmu in a real Dreamcast.
  • The large CDI file is padded to be burnt to disc for use on a real Dreamcast. This is currently untested.

Hi! I'm going to burn this on a disc and print a cover, is perhaps the one you use in the mockup available somewhere in a larger format?

This is slightly larger cleaner version but I don't know if it's high res enough for printing. I've also mocked up EU versions of the front and back for my own collection, but not done a US back yet.

Thank you, yeah, perhaps a bit too lowres for printing, but I'll download it anyway for reference. Oh, would you care sharing the EU ones as well? I'm a fellow european so that would be splendid! :) I'll probably end up changing it around to fit a DVD case in the end though, so if you have the assets (logo etc) loosey goosey somewhere I'd be very interested in that as well! Perhaps that's asking for too much but I thought I'd ask just in case (pun intended).

Here's the EU mockups I did. I licensed the background image so I think if I share the raw image that would break that license, and even with the logo I only ever finished off the design in a small version (I think the banner on this page is the largest transparent version of the logo available). Obviously if I was intending a commercial release I'd have put more work into higher res assets.

Thanks a bunch! I'll make this work for my project! :)

Here's how it turned out (I always go with the japanese orange because that's how all my after market shmups are designed and I like the consistency)!

I haven't seen a game using pre-rendered backgrounds since who knows when. Gives a great ominous atmosphere in combination with the soundtrack.
Really striking. Only had a short explore, but definitely worth coming back to (with that notepad) I think.
